Smart Food: Weekly Menu, May 23 – 27, Postpartum Healthy Living!

[ad#Google in Content]

Well I’m a Smart Mama of 2 now!  This week we start our postpartum healthy eating routine!  Gone are the days of endless bowls of ice cream, chips and dip and spoonfuls of peanut butter!  Tom has been a great pregnant spouse…he put on weight as I did throughout the last 9 months!

Our 1st phase of returning to normal, healthy eating begins with dinners this week.  We’ve decided to try a different recipe each day, as we have learned through experience that her recipes are always delicious and healthy.  I began by looking through the circulars to see what the protein deals were for the week, (chicken, pork chops and shrimp) and I searched throughout Skinny Taste for recipes to use our proteins!

Pork Chops with Dijon Herb Sauce
Pork chops are one of our favorites and there’s nothing like a good “creamy sauce” on top!

Chicken & Mushrooms in a Garlic White Wine Sauce
My mouth is watering reading this recipe!  I can just imagine how yummy it will smell and taste! I’ll make brown rice and a big salad to go with it.

Low Fat Baked Ziti with Spinach
Ahhh, pasta the ultimate comfort food for me! I’m drooling for this ziti dish!

Chicken and White Bean Enchiladas with Creamy Salsa Verde
Mexican, one of my favorite cuisines!

Garlic Shrimp in Coconut Milk, Tomatoes & Cilantro

We’re ending the week with nice seafood dish.  Doesn’t just the title of this one make your mouth water!

What’s on your menu this week?  Have a healthy recipe you would like this Smart Mama home to try?  Please share!

  1. No judgment at all, but if you ever want to try a kid-approved (and Daddy too!) meatless recipe (say for Meatless Monday), I’ve got lots of them 🙂

Congrats on that sweet new baby and his proud big sis!
