Carnival Vista Sailing European and NY Waters in 2016

You’ve read my experiences with Carnival. You’ve seen the fun we’ve had aboard the Breeze, Sunshine and Freedom. You know how I am obsessed with Carnival’s speciality restaurants. I’m thrilled to announce that Carnival is kicking it up another notch for families (if that’s even possible!) Here’s the video that was the first enticement made to fellow media at the #TakeInTheVista event in NYC this month. (You’ll see my cameo – look for the girl in the pink shirt!)

In May 2016 their brand new massive ship, Carnival Vista, will begin its sailings in Europe. Yes, Europe! The fun and foodie-loving ship will have some of the most impressive port cities for cruisers to experience. Oh, I so hope to have the opportunity to enjoy the Carnival Vista during its European sailing in 2016. Carnival Vista

It will complete a trans-atlantic sailing in late October and then begin its sailings from New York! The official homeport of the Carnival Vista has yet to be announced. Hoping for somewhere in South Florida!

What’s New on the Carnival Vista for Families?

Carnival Vista Staterooms

I must find my way to a Harbor Family Suite aboard the Carnival Vista. Wow, was my reaction when Mark Tamis, Senior Vice President, shared the details of this suite ideal for families of up to 5. The space, the decor and the view are all perfect. The addition of the Family Lounge, will make those enjoying the suites have additional space to relax, snack and socialize with other Family Suite guests.

The Havana Cabana is on the top of my list for staterooms to enjoy on the Vista. It’s decor is reminiscent of old school Havana – obvious a place very dear to my heart. There are hammocks, lounge chairs and obvious tranquility in these private cabana-like rooms. The pool area centering these staterooms will be exclusive for Havana Cabana guests during the daytime.

Carnival Vista for Foodies

Adding to the lineup of delicious food, Carnival will add Seafood Shack for guests. Quite reminiscent of a New England fishing-town eatery, guests are going to be lining up for lobster rolls, clam strips and more. I sampled these both during the launch event and they were fantastic.

The ever-popular watering hole, Red Frog Pub, is adding a brew master! Yes, the Carnival Vista will brewing its own beer! The pub will also have seating on the lanai, too.  Cherry On Top, the kids favorite candy shop will also be more open-air, as well as serve speciality ice-cream. I sampled some of their flavors and it was delicious! The Havana Bar, a lounge found on many of the ships we’ve sailed will have a more prominent location on the Vista for this latin-themed nightspot.

All in all, guests will have LIDO MARKETPLACE (Poolside Restaurant) including, Pizzeria del Capitano, Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, Comfort Kitchen, Carnival Deli and Dessert Station; REFLECTIONS RESTAURANT ROOM (Aft), HORIZONS DINING ROOM (Forward), CUCINA DEL CAPITANO (Italian Restaurant), THE CHEF’S TABLE (Private In-Galley Dining Venue), CHERRY ON TOP (Candy/Premium Ice Cream/Novelty Shop), FAHRENHEIT 555 (Steakhouse), JI JI ASIAN KITCHEN (Full-Service Asian Restaurant), JAVA BLUE CAFÉ (Coffee Shop), SHAKE SPOT (Custom Milkshakes), THE TASTE BAR (Pre-Dinner/Happy Hour Appetizer Venue), SEAFOOD SHACK (New England-Inspired Seafood Eatery), BONSAI SUSHI (Full-Service Sushi restaurant), and FAT JIMMY’S C-SIDE BBQ (Open-Air Barbecue Eatery)!

Carnival Vista for Fun

IMAX at Sea will provide guests the chance to catch blockbuster hits at the same moment they debut on land-side screens! Sports Square and Carnival Waterworks are being amped up even more for passengers on the Carnival Vista! Sports Square will now include a SkyRide – an open-air cycling experience! Check out my experience on the SkyRide (when it was planted on the ground and not suspended in air) What fun!

I can just hear the squeals of excitement when my girls get to spin down the 455 foot Kaleid-o-Slide! The lights, the spins, the fun! All the awesome features we experienced on the Carnival Sunshine’s WaterWorks and more will be found on the deck of the Vista. Hours and hours of fun will be enjoyed by my kids, my husband and me!

Sold! Wow, this biggest ever water park at sea will have kids & adults soaked in fun! #takeinthevista #carnivalvista #familytravel

  1. Wow! I haven’t been on a cruise in about 12 years but wow does it look like they have changed. That looks amazing. I love the hammock with the balcony. One of these days we will give cruising another try — probably on a family trip to Alaska.

  2. Sunshine’s Water Works looks amazing for the kids. I have never been on a cruise and I’m dying to give it a try with Chris someday. I’m not sure if six of us Stows will ever get to cruise together. Glad you got to experience this! AMAZING!
