Summer Weekend Getaway at the Hilton Bonnet Creek
UPDATE: Check out our video montage of our very favorite aspects of the Hilton Bonnet Creek!
A summer weekend getaway at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando provided our family a perfect opportunity to relax, have fun, enjoy outstanding food and receive top notch service.
We head to Orlando quite a bit being South Florida residents. Yes, most of our trips include a visit to Disney. But, this summer weekend getaway didn’t need it!
The Hilton Bonnet Creek is within the Walt Disney World grounds making it an ideal Disney area hotel for those wanting to visit the parks. They have reliable transportation to/from the parks just like you would find at any Disney resort. But, you don’t just come to to the Hilton Bonnet Creek because of its proximity to Magic Kingdom. You come here for the entire resort that’s filled with entertainment for the entire family. Over the course of the 48 hours my family spent at the resort we were having a blast and relaxing.
SummerBlast! at the Hilton Bonnet Creek
The resort has 1001 room and is adjacent to its sister property the Waldorf Astoria Orlando with an additional 498 rooms. What makes the resort perfect for families is the pool area. A long lazy river runs the perimeter of the 3-acre pool complex, with two large pools intertwined in, provide the perfect respite for fun and chill time. The fun was real, true summertime fun! Throughout the afternoon on Saturday we partied it up at the Summer Blast Pool Party where we played musical hula hoops, rooted for our rubber ducks in the “Duck”tona 500 Rubber Duck Race, listened & danced to live music and more!
Our daughters went around and around and around the lazy river. Sometimes they went on their float and other times just swam/floated. On Friday night we hung out in the pool area to watch a SummerBlast! Dive-In Movie – Shark Tale! SO much fun! (It was cancelled on Saturday night because of the stormy weather coming in.)
Yes, there is a Reese Jones-designed championship golf course and a luxe spa that neither my husband or I had a moment to enjoy. Next time, I promised him.
Dining at the Hilton Bonnet Creek
Even it we are on vacation we always expect great food and service. We were very impressed with the dining options at the Hilton Bonnet Creek. We enjoyed two breakfasts at the Harvest Bistro. They have a breakfast buffet that is plentiful and quite good. We have a tradition of eating big breakfasts on vacation, a light lunch (still full from breakfast) and then a nice dinner. Our breakfast buffet at the Harvest Bistro filled our tummies for much of Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday night we opted to dine at La Luce, a modern Italian restaurant at the hotel.
Our meal was outstanding and the service was superb. It was a nice change from our afternoon of swimsuits and water slides to lamb shanks and risotto. We highly recommend La Luce for both the unbelievable food and the high level of service.
Staying at the Hilton Bonnet Creek
We had two adjoining rooms for our family of 4. Although one room would have provided plenty of space. The room were spacious, well-decorated and with all the modern amenities you would expect. Each room has a mini-fridge and best of all a fantastic view. Our rooms overlooked the pool area, golf course and Hollywood Studios in the distance. We could see the Hollywood Studios fireworks from our room at night. The service – housekeeping, bells, valet and others – were all excellent.

We were invited to the Hilton Bonnet Creek as part of a complimentary stay. The stay did not include dinner at La Luce. All opinions and photographs are my own and not influenced.

That looks like so much fun – what a beautiful place to visit!! Sure wish we lived closer to that place.
Looks like everyone had a blast! Hotels, seems to be in a great location and offers tons of fun to do on the hotel grounds.
What a fun sounding place! I used to live in Orlando and was always on the look-out for a really great pool area. Sounds like I should check this out on my next visit back. 🙂
