Valentines Day in Miami, Ideas for Couples

Valentine's Day in Miami

The most romantic night of the year is upon us. Valentine’s Day in Miami has the potential to be incredibly romantic for the moms & dads living in South Florida.

Driving towards the beach, eating a delicious dinner and maybe even spending the night (without kids) at a swanky hotel, sounds like a perfect night. Or maybe getting the babysitter even earlier and finding sometime to relax in the spa or let your husband sneak away and hit a few rounds of golf, or maybe he’ll even spa with you! If you’re not local to Miami, you might want to grab a flight and head down for the weekend. Who doesn’t want to spend a weekend in Miami in February!? Valentine's Day in Miami

Valentines Day in Miami for Couples

I contacted some of the very best hotels, restaurants & attractions in Miami to see precisely what they were offering for Valentine’s Day week. There are some pretty romantic and even over-the-top ways to enjoy that weekend with your love. So if you’re wondering what to See, Eat and Do for Valentine’s Day in Miami, here’s what I’ve found:

What to SEE in Miami on Valentine’s Day

Sunrise in Crandon Park

Start your Valentine’s Day at 6:57 AM in peaceful beauty watching the sunrise! Head to Crandon Park in Key Biscayne to launch a kayak into the waters at sunrise. You and your Valentine will join a tour that meets at the Crandon Park Visitors and Nature Center in the North Beach entrance at 6 AM. You’ll kayak together as you greet this new day. To register, visit MiamiEcoAdventures.com or call 305-361-6767.

Miami Sunset
Catching the sunset at Matheson Hammock with family.

Sunset at Matheson Hammock

At precisely 6:13 PM on February 14, 2015, the sun will set over Miami. Finding a spot to watch the sunset is a perfect way to begin your Valentine’s Day night. One of my favorite spots for this daily event is Matheson Hammock Park. Nestled in Coral Gables, this county park boasts a marina, seafood restaurant, plenty of opportunities to enjoy a water sport, an inlet for some water play, and best of all an awesome view through palm trees of the sunset. There is a $7 vehicle entry fee at the park ($5 on weekdays) – but the office closes at 5 PM, so if you get there later than that you might not need to pay to enter. Park your car near the inlet and walk around its circumference to see the sunset that night. 9610 Old Cutler Road ~ 305-665-5475

Zuma at Epic

You might want to make a reservation for two at Zuma at the Epic Hotel. Last August Tom & I enjoyed the Omakase, a specially prepared tasting menu of 8-courses, for our 10 year anniversary.  I couldn’t recommend the Omakase and the restaurant itself enough. The attention to detail of every dish was remarkable. This year for Valentine’s Day Zuma is offering their traditional menu, which if you both are sushi foodies, you must try it! Not only is the food incredible, but the ambiance is great. 270 Biscayne Boulevard Way ~ 305 577 0277

Sunset or Moonlight Dining at Acqualina

An gorgeous setting to spend a perfect Valentine’s evening. The Acqualina is inviting guests to enjoy a prix fix Valentine’s Day Menu as you take in the sunset or daze at the moonlight. Proximity to the ocean waves makes this romantic dinner a great pick for the lovebirds! Imagine sipping your Cosmo, listening to the waves crash, looking at the moon at the corner of your eye, all while you hold your love’s hand and enjoy and exquisite dinner together. I’ve got goosebumps! Check out the menu here17875 Collins Avenue ~ 305-918-6872
