Produce for Kids Teams with Publix
Produce for Kids at Publix
Walking into Publix you are first greeted with their abundant produce section. Colorful and fresh fruits and veggies are displayed and ready for purchase. Produce for Kids, an organization that has raised more than 3.2 million dollars to support healthy food initiatives, recognizes that the direct effect nutrition has on school children. As part of their Healthy Kids, Healthy Minds campaign, now through October 24th, participating fresh fruit and vegetable suppliers at Publix will make a donation based on consumption of their fresh produce items to DonorsChoose.org. Proceeds will support local classroom projects. Brands that we all love, including Buddy Fruits® – The Healthy Fruit Snack; Crunch Pak® – Sliced Apples; Del Monte® Fruit Naturals® Cups; Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc. – Del Monte Gold® Extra Sweet Pineapple; Fresh Express® – Packaged Salads; Shuman Produce – RealSweet® Sweet Onions; Ventura Foods – Marie’s®Dressings & Dips are graciously supporting Produce for Kids and Publix’ efforts! It’s just so fantastic!
Lazy Town Isn’t Lazy for Produce
The Sprout TV hit Lazy Town is providing an eye catching display at your local Publix! Look for this Lazy Town display at your local Publix – it’s certain to draw the attention of your Lazy Town fans! Use it as the launching pad for a discussion on produce to purchase and eat that week! Maybe they’ll want to try something new! Remind them that the more items (from participating vendors) they add to their shopping lists, the more local classrooms will benefit! Super motivating!

Publix Prize for You!
Be honest, are your kids good produce eaters? You’ve heard my stories of dinnertime battles & stubborn eaters many times. While my little one will eat ANYTHING, my big girl is a pain about fruits but LOVES onions and peppers. Odd, but I’ll take it!
Share your produce successes or failures for a chance to win a $25 Publix gift card! See details below!

This was a great post and definitely reminded me of the importance of not straying from the healthy eating path. I am trying to up MY own personal produce intake but with Isabella, who just turned 1, we’ve been very adamant about giving her lots of fruits and veggies. Right now, she’s enjoying some tasty watermelon.
