Giving the Gift of College this Holiday

Give the Gift of College

What will you be putting under the tree? Families struggle with deciding what to get the kids. Particularly at those early years when the babies have enough onesies, stuffed animals and board books, finding a unique gift can be a challenge. They want to find a gift that will be WORTH IT, a gift that will be REMEMBERED for a long time – not one that will be re-gifted or lost in the back of a closet.

Giving the gift of college can happen from the moment of birth through 11th grade with the Florida Prepaid Plan. A 4-year degree at a Florida university is the likely path for many children growing up here in South Florida. There are plenty of Gator and Nole alumni who hope and pray that Gainesville or Tallahassee is in the future for the little one. With the Florida Prepaid Program, loved ones can do what they can NOW to best help the little one for the FUTURE. In a world with so much uncertainty, it is rewarding to give the gift of something that will be guaranteed and secure.

The Prepaid Investment

In 2017 the cost to attend a state school, such as UF or FSU is around $5000 for one year, not including room and board or materials. The price WILL INCREASE. Likely quite a bit by the time your children reach college-age. Take the money that you would have spent at a toy shop and use it instead to invest in the 4-year Florida University Plan. This investment covers tuition and most fees for 120 credit hours at a State University.

4-Year Florida University Plan: The Details

  • This Plan will start your child off at one of Florida’s 12 prestigious state universities and see them through their four-year journey.
  • If your child decides to start at a college (typically less expensive), the unused funds from this Plan can be applied to a post-secondary degree or you can get the remaining money back
  • Like all plans, use isn’t restricted to Florida schools; the amount covered by your Prepaid Plan can be used at schools nationwide.Florida Prepaid College Enrollment
