I have to say that I was challenged these last 30 days. Although we started with my 8 year old being the most prepared patient at her annual check up, we ended with our home with the stomach flu. I’ve shared our story of how 3 out of 4 of us got it simultaneously. So many of you offered advice. Thank you.
During those days, I was reminded, once again, of how unstoppable moms are – dads don’t always receive the same credit – ever seen a “Man Cold.” As I sat there consoling my 8 year old as she was getting sick in a trashcan next to my bed, I was holding my mouth as closed as I could because I knew I needed to get to the bathroom asap. Even the next day, as I tendered my husband and daughter, I often didn’t even think of myself. I put them first, as I should.
As moms, it really doesn’t make a difference how sick you are – you still need to show up at the “office.” Your home is your office – regardless if you work outside of the home, at home or whatever, our homes are our most important responsibility. 
We’re unstoppable. We don’t have time of nonsense. That stomach flu was utter NONSENSE. I didn’t have time for it. I tried my best to not give it time and cared for everyone else. Alas it won, just a little, because since I didn’t rest, like I should have, it took me the longest to recover.
Yes, lesson learned. Although I am unstoppable, I must also be healthy. Can’t be unstoppable when I am not too healthy! Although moms have no sick days, I can at least have a slow-down a bit day!
I’ve made a deal with myself to rest as much as I can. It’s ok to stop and rest – that doesn’t make me unstoppable!
