#SmartMamaLUTION #12 – Checking In On Your Resolutions

The Hormel Extended Blogger Family program has inspired me to share my New Year’s resolution progress!  I’m eager to hear about your’s!

We are half way through the 1st month of the year.  How are you doing on your New Year’s resolutions!? Be honest!  This is a fantastic time to reflect on your accomplishments and rework how you will meet the resolutions that may have been a bit more difficult to stick with.

I pat myself on the back for a job well done with:

  • Eating healthier!
  • Drinking more water!
  • Picking up the house more often!
  • Saying HI to more people!
  • Drinking green tea daily!

Still Need to Work On

  • Exercising 3xs a week!
  • Cleaning up my desk every few days! (You don’t even want to look at it now!)
  • Going to bed earlier! (Let’s just say I watched part of the end of Letterman last night!)
  • Getting up earlier! (Woops, forgot to set the alarm this morning! Thankful for the baby to be our alarm today!)

I’m proud of myself!  My biggest challenge was to eat healthier and I’m doing that.  I’m taking time each Sunday organizing my menu (see #SmartMamaLUTION 4: What’s for Dinner?) and finding new healthy recipes to try.  This is a big step in not only being a more organized Smart Mama but also in
being a Smart Mama is cares about the nutritional content of the meals she serves.  Those 15 minutes on Sunday tend to be the best 15 minutes I spend each week for the family. My family reaps the rewards as well. Our dinners are varied. Our dinners are healthier. Our dinner planning has become a family event. We love it.

Looking at my resolutions that haven’t gotten very far, I’m going to focus this week on getting up earlier.  I figure if I start waking up ealier, my body will be more tired earlier at night.  Gone are the days of watching late night TV but I welcome the morning of having a cup of coffee BEFORE the kids wake up!

I’m not giving up on myself and I most certainly hope you’re not giving up on yourself either!

How are you managing? How you found a system that works best for you?  Please share!  Let’s support each other!
