We wanted to weekend getaway. We wanted to have fun and enjoy time together as a family.
An opportunity became available to book a concierge upgraded suite at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando. We packed our bags and headed North.
The Rosen Shingle Creek is located just over 10 miles from Walt Disney World, but that’s not the only reason you stay there. This resort boast more than 1500 rooms, that are ample in size and full of amenities. The grounds have loads of activities for the family. We enjoyed the pool, admired the golf course, and saw a beach volleyball court, arcade, fishing pier, fitness room and more.
The property is clean. The service is attentive.
Concierge Rooms at Rosen Shingle Creek
Our Executive Suite was wonderful for our family of 4, and could have most certainly housed a few more guests. Our one-bedroom suite had a bedroom with 2 queen beds and full bath, plus a living room with a seating & TV area, a full size dining room table, Murphy Bed, full bath and wet bar. The suite was tastefully decorated – although a bit dark.
Booking with a Concierge Upgrade is an additional $50.00 but includes complimentary continental breakfast daily, appetizers and desserts at night in their concierge lounge and complimentary access to the fitness center and complimentary self-parking. This, a feature many of us enjoy at name brand hotels, is most certainly well-enjoyed by families.
We have found lounges, like the one at Rosen Shingle Creek to be a great option for families. Enjoying a lounge and its amenities provides guests the opportunity to “escape” their room for a cocktail or a snack without the hassle of really “going out.” We’ve also found that concierge lounges provide ample snacks that for your younger children could constitute as a meal. Yes, I’ve fed my children the bar Chex Mix for dinner before.
The Rosen Shingle Creek Concierge Lounge was quiet and well-staffed. Guests would periodically step in and grab a few bottled waters and sodas and head back to their room. Yes, a nice treat to have complimentary bottled drinks.
Quirks of Rosen Shingle Creek
- It is a conference hotel. It has beautiful conference amenities but this could get overwhelming in size for the non-conference visitor. We were non-conference visitors and it didn’t bother us at all, but I know some of you aren’t fans of “conference” hotels.
- If you ask for late check out, be sure to go to the front desk with your keys. They automatically deactivate at the time of traditional check out. The front desk will gladly adjust your key for your new check out time. We learned this from experience when we couldn’t enter our room after check out time but before our arranged late check out time. Security came up within a few minutes to gladly and very professionally assist us.

Wow, what a great place to stay! I love that the lounge has complimentary drinks, it’s always nice to not have to worry about having spare change for a vending machine when you want a drink!
