VerizonWireless has captured the love shared and even devastated through our mobile devices. Did you know that according to their findings, 82% of women reveal their relationship status via social media? I’m one of those. I’ve indicated that I’m married, and even whom I’m married to on my Facebook profile. Have you? Are you part of the 82%?

I met Tom 10 years ago this Valentine’s Day. I was at a bar in Bethesda, MD with a friend – annoyed at men and the entire concept of Valentine’s Day. I had no idea that on that night I would meet my future husband. It was a great night, filled with one too many drinks, sweetheart candies and the exchange of phone numbers. I remember the next 24 hours as I stared at my phone awaiting a phone call from this random guy that I had met at Caddie’s on Cordell. This was before text messaging was such a trememndous component of our daily communication. He called my cell phone – flip-phone of course. The next day in fact. Over the next few months my little flip-phone nutured much of our relationship. Tom would send me texts – although not so common in that time – a few times a day. The smile on my face and the warmth of my heart showed my true feelings for this random guy at the bar.
