Wyndham Lake Buena Vista a Disney Springs Resort for Famillies

We were invited to spend two nights at the recently renovated Wyndham Lake Buena Vista in the Disney Springs area of Walt Disney World. We truly enjoyed our experience and highly recommend the resort for families wishing to stay close to Disney Springs.

During our visit, we stayed in a Disney-view Tower room with two queen beds. The room was ample. The smell was clean and fresh. The linens were brand new. The view to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is perfect for in-room viewing of the nightly fireworks. 

The Wyndham Lake Buena Vista was renovated in 2015 and its clean, contemporary look is refreshing. There is something very inviting and homey, as well. Walking into the lobby guests are greeted with lots of seating making it a perfect spot for families to gather before or after trips to the parks. 

The lakeside theme that the designers intended is seen from the lobby to the guest rooms. I fell in love with many of the design aspects.

Disney Springs

Take advantage of the accessibility to Disney Springs. With hundreds of shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the hotel, spend a least a half a day enjoying the Disney “attraction.” Be sure to grab the coupon book available at the front desk for discounts at the shops and restaurants. 

Affordability

While affordability is important, I do prefer as luxury of a hotel as we can without breaking the bank. The Tower Rooms at Wyndham Lake Buena Vista provide guests with near-luxury and affordability – perfect for our family. I researched a weekend in September and the room we stayed in runs for $113/night. That’s a great price for a Disney near-luxury property. I would consider this hotel a Disney Moderate – almost luxury. The rooms are just as nice as the Disney Luxury but the service and other amenities aren’t at the caliber that guests see at the more expensive luxury resorts – Disney and non-Disney properties. Prices at the Wyndham are half what you pay to stay at a Disney resort of the same caliber. 

Bus Transportation to Disney Parks

There is complimentary bus transportation to the Disney World Parks. The bus service comes every 30 minutes. We traditionally drive to the parks, regardless the hotel we stay at – unless we are at a “monorail hotel.” 

Dining Options

There are few dining options at the Wyndham, but that’s ok. We ate at their restaurant, Lakeview Restaurant for dinner the first night. The waitress was nice and the food was pretty good. However, with the large space that the restaurant has, it was a bit odd being one of only three tables with guests. At one point it was just our family. With the increased attention to developing Disney Springs, there really isn’t a reason to upgrade this restaurant much. I’m sure it gets far busier on nights when the weather is crummy.

Character Breakfast

The restaurant does serve an important purpose – it’s an official Disney Character Breakfast spot! Skip the long lines to meet the characters and enjoy a breakfast on the property and meet the characters. The breakfast is offered on select days each week. We were not able to attend, but do hope to on our next trip. 

Grab and Go Marketplace

Take advantage Sundial 24-7 in the lobby. I really loved this grab-and-go marketplace. There was a countertop for specialty coffees, refrigerators with chilled drinks and plenty of foods for any meal of the day.

Amenities

Due to the length of our stay we were not able to take advantage of all the amenities the resort has to offer. I did see the pool and the Eclipse Bar – poolside dining.
