Smarty Pants Product of the Week – Peek

Smarty Pants Review
Want the portability of checking your email on the go but don’t want to subscribe to some hefty data package for your phone? If so, Peek could be exactly what you need! Over the past month I have thoroughly enjoyed keeping up with my SmartyPantsMama email while g etting my haircut, at the grocery and even sitting in the car waiting to pick the munchkin up from nursery school. It’s great! I can honestly say that it is SUPER easy to set up, a sure sign that it is SUPER easy to use. To test my theory, I used my not so tech savvy mother as a guinea pig. She was able to easily check and respond to an email in just 2 minutes – proving that Peek is truly a Smart Product for Smart Moms!!!
Why is it a Smarty Pants of Product?
I really see Peek as a budget-minded mom’s tool. It’s not a $300 phone with a $50 monthly charge. While some of us may want or even need all the bells and whistles, Peek gives us simply stated and accessed email. Just perfect!
Retail Value
$99 for the device and $20/month for no contract subscription!

Don’t know if I need something for just email but here goes: my local library uses email to notify us of books that have come in and upcoming due dates. I’ve arrived home, unpacked everyone and every thing only to find an email from the library saying a book I’ve been waiting for is at their counter for me. It wouldn’t have been nice to know that BEFORE I got home! LOL

Wow- it would be great to be able to check my e-mail on the go. With kids it’s almost impossible to lug around a laptop so this way I could double check appointments, directions etc without breaking my back or my bank- great find and thinks for the chance to win!

The best way to get ahold of my husband is via email. For some reason he gets email before voice mails on his pocket PC. Would love to be able to get in touch with him even when I am out and about.

I’m constantly stopping to check my laptop when I’m on the go. It’s kind of a pain in the butt. I think I’d be able to get a lot more done if I could do my emailing on the go. There’s no reason to power up the notebook when you could just have this in your pocket! Thanks for the great contest!

I work from home and rely heavily on my email to communicate with my clients.
It would be so nice to not have to worry about rushing home from time spent with my family in case I am missing an important email.
Instead we could enjoy our time out together more because i could take my email with me with no fear of missing an important email.
this device would give me so much more quality time with my children.
Thank you so very much for offering this wonderful giveaway.

Being a mom means you always have these scattered vacant minutes where you are “waiting” for someone to finish “something” and be chauffered off to the “next thing.” With Peek, those minutes could be used to check emails!

  21. jennem 13 December, 2008 at 08:35 Reply

I have so much time to kill while on mass transit, I could take care of my email then and save work/home time for other things.

This is cool! It would really help keeps things organized. I could e-mail myself shopping lists or to-do lists for when I’m out and about because paper lists AWLAYS get lost (or chewed on).

Between driving my son to school, picking him up. Driving my daughter to school, picking her up. Driving daughter to her work, picking her up. Driving son to sports events and practices and waiting to drive back home. Making dinner on the go. This sounds like a great little invention that would make me a smart mom because I wouldn’t be doing the ‘fly by’ emails back to friends and family because I don’t have the time to respond back to them properly.

    Great giveaway!

    Happy Holidays

It’d be great to be notified of something I need to get when I’m away from home, things like shopping lists. It’d also be good to be able to quickly review and dispose of junk mail at any spare time I might have.

This would be so great to have. I have teenagers so its hard to get time on the computer and with this I could just check my email on it. It would also help me keep up with my three kids appointments. I am always scheduling more than one at the same time and this away I could take it with me so I don’t do this. Thanks

Ooo! I know! I could subscribe to all kinds of ‘word of the day’ and ‘grammar tip of the day’ emails, and I could use the Peek to retrieve and read the contents…and THAT will make me smarter! I rock! 😉

What a wonderful giveaway for a very cool product! Peek can help me be a Smart Mom by giving me the freedom to stay connected with my husband, children and friends even while I am not at home! I have a 5 month old daughter and 2 other young children and I am constantly on the go doing something with one of them. Whether it is taking the kids to doctors appointment, or grocery shopping, or taking care of work assignments and I have no way to stay in touch with necessary people effectively when I am doing these activities! This ultra cool device will enable me to have peace of mind knowing I can in deed know about important messages while on the road and it will save me from so much unnecessary anxiety wondering all the time what I am missing out on when I can’t be home! Thank you so much for the opportunity to enter.

Would be so nice to have my own personal access point for e-mail. Sharing a computer gets a bit touchy at times, doesn’t it?!!

I am an English Language Tutor, who works with about 20 children daily. Sometimes, teachers need to update me on lessons, or specials, and are unable to do so, as I am in my classroom with other students, or on route to picking up or dropping off students. To update me when I pick up the student takes away the actual time I would be doing a lesson with the student. This would allow teachers to send me a message that I could read on route (no need to be logged on my computer) to their individual classrooms. Very helpful. Thanks for this chance.

  38. countrymommato3 14 December, 2008 at 08:40 Reply

As a busy mom of 3 under 5 this would be great for me b/c I could check email while waiting at school or putting the baby to sleep or at a play date. My emails tend to pile up and this would help me manage them more efficiently!

It would sure help me to do 2 things at once while I am waiting at my kids lessons. Then I would not have to do it when I got home. I could even write nagging emails to myself so I don’t forget things. LOL
