Smart Product: 3M Command Picture Hanging Strips w/giveaway

He thought it was nonsense. How would stickers hold up a large, heavy frame? He wanted no responsibility if it fell.  I told him, “Just trust me!”

I challenged my husband, Tom, to use the 3M Command Picture Hanging Strips instead of nails to hang a large painting in our living room. We had hung up two other paintings the traditional way, already damaging the wall with nail holes.

He reluctantly read the directions and got to work.  These picture hanging strips can hold frames up to 24×36 inches, with a weight not greater than 16lbs.

3M Command Picture Hanging Strips are intended to be used to hang pretty much anything, however do consider the size and weight limitations.  The strips are similar to Velcro strips, where one side adheres to the object and the match to the wall.  The strips “click” together and the adhesive backing is strong enough to hold the object in place.

Now, the best part is when it’s time to move the object, maybe for redecorating purposes, or your college student is moving out of their dorm, you easily pull the adhesive (following the directions that are provided) and nothing remains on the wall!  There is no nail hole or double sided tape stuck to the wall.

Yes, that’s my Isabella pointing to the painting hanging in the living room. And, yes, it’s still hanging there! Guess who told me I was right?!  Love it!

Now onto some more fun stuff!  I challenge you to use 3M Command Picture Hanging Strips
to transform a living space. Maybe finally hanging up that photo collage frame that you put together Art Cabinetmonths ago, or hanging these art cabinets to display this year’s art school projects!  Photograph your transformation and share it on the Command Facebook page to have a chance to win $500 and a Flip video camera!

3M Command Picture Hanging Strips can be found at many major retailers and online at sell for approximately $3.99.

  1. My son’s room needs to be decorated, but we have plaster and lath walls (which means that I have to get the drill out 🙁 ). We could actually decorate his room!!!! Yeah!

  2. These strips are the coolest and easiest way to hang a picture .They go on easy, and are invisible to the eye. The best part is that your picture will never shift and be crooked again. We use this product to hang our pictures , it made our living room looks clean and nice.

  3. I live in a new apartment and I would LOVE to not destroy the walls…..so far we have hung very little for fear of damaging the new paint and getting charged when we move!
