Smart Deal: Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Woodrow Wilson. All opinions are 100% mine.

I spent 8 years teaching in a public school system in Maryland. Those were 8 of my most rewarding years.  The intrinsic rewards of teaching are remarkable and I wish all Smart Mama readers have the opportunity to experience how teaching is a positive, rewarding occupation.

Currently the Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship is seeking to recruit, prepare and retain effective teachers for the students and schools who need them most. That may be YOU! Many of us Smart Mamas are career changers, who are tired of our current occupation or are about to dabble back into the real world again but need a change.  If that sounds like you and your bachelors is in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or math) this fellowship would provide a $30,000 stipend to complete an intensive master’s degree program at one of fourteen participating universities.  It’s such a fantastic opportunity for stay at home moms ready to take on a new challenge at no cost! It is also something to consider for a retired family member or even your spouse has needs a change.

If you are selected to be a Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellow you will complete a field-based master’s degree in teacher education. Commit to teach for at least three years in a high-need school and receive intensive support and mentoring in the classroom.

Enjoy this video where you meet former fellows and learn first-hand how rewarding their second career as a teacher has been!
