Irish Oatmeal

Mixing ingredients that you love often leads to a delicious result. This is certainly true with our PB& J Oat Bites. Using McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal®, I put together this recipe and made it in no time. But let me share why I opt to use McCann’s Irish Oatmeal in not only in this recipe, but in others needing a minimally-processed nutty oat flavor and/or consistency.

Thank you to McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal® and The Motherhood for sponsoring this recipe and experience with our favorite Irish oatmeal. Opinions are my own.

A Nutritious Pantry with Irish Oatmeal

This year our family is making an earnest effort to be more conscious about the foods we are purchasing and putting inside of our bodies. When I walk down the aisle at my favorite market I do pay attention to advertising that mentions that something is organic or has no GMOs. That was the first time that I came across the McCann’s Irish Oatmeal product line.

Irish Oatmeal

McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal is made from 100 percent whole grain. It has earned its first Non-GMO Certification from the Non-GMO Project for three of its core products: the McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal in the 28 oz. Tin, McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal in the 24 oz. Canister and McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal Quick Cooking Rolled Oats in the 16 oz. Box.

This oatmeal has been around for over 150 years so it clearly has become quite proficient in producing incredible tasting oatmeal. I knew that the PB&J Oat Bites would be just perfect, made with McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal.

Irish Oatmeal Not Just Hot

While I so much enjoy having a warm bowl of McCann’s Irish Oatmeal for breakfast, that is topped with some diced up fruit, organic honey or even a drizzle of maple syrup, we use it just as often as an ingredient for baked goods or even as part of an entrée. It’s unique, nutty taste – there is minimal processing, nothing added, nothing artificial, makes it versatile in many recipes.

  2. I like topping oatmeal with sliced bananas! That and a bit of brown sugar or honey makes it super tasty.
