Below are the CPSC recalls I have received this past week. There are 5 recalls for hooded sweatshirts. The CPSC issued guidelines in September 1999 indicating that hooded, sizes 2T -12, SHOULD NOT have hood or neck drawstrings due to strangulation hazard. Name of Product: Home Sweet Playhome CanopiesHazard: A child’s head could get entrapped in the canopy’s window openings, posing entrapment and strangulation hazards.Description: The recalled canopies involve the “Home Sweet Playhome” model made of 100% cotton gingham fabric draped from a bamboo hoop which is suspended from the ceiling to create a cylindrical play space measuring 36 inches wide and 9 feet tall. Hazard: The wall mount can crack when used with televisions 26 inches and larger or with televisions that include a DVD player. The television can then fall from the wall mount and pose a serious risk of injury to consumers standing nearby.
Description: These wall mounts are used with flat screen LCD televisions. The recalled wall mounts are INIT models NT-TVM103 and NT-TVM104. The model numbers can be found on the UL sticker on the television interface.

Hazard: The pegs on the xylophone can break, posing a choking hazard to children.
Description: The recalled product is a rolling xylophone made of metal, wood and plastic. It has four wheels and a string to pull the toy. The xylophone has eight metal bars, each of which is attached with two pegs. The name ‘Janod’ is printed on each side between the wheels, and on the back wheels.

Below are the CPSC recalls I received this past week. This is actually the 1st time that I have found one of the recall items in my home! We were at a parade a few weeks ago and we purchased, much to my hesitation, a blinking pacifier for my little munchkin. I remember laughing to my Smarty Pants Dada that night that this “toy” has all signs of needing to be recalled! Luckily my daughter only played with it for the hour of the parade and then I quickly confiscated it. It was very much an “I told you so” moment yesterday when I received the email from the CPSC that the pacifier had been recalled. Hazard: The jackets have drawstrings through the hood and at the waist. Children can get entangled in the drawstrings that can catch on playground equipment, fences or tree branches. Hazard: The treadmills can speed up unexpectedly while in use due to a malfunction with the lower control board, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
Description: The recall involves the Cybex 445T, 455T, 530T, 450T, 500T, 515T, and 520T treadmill models. The treadmills are black and gray with rectangular uprights. The 530T style treadmill is 81 inches long by 32 inches wide. The 445T style treadmill is 72 inches long by 32 inches wide. The treadmills have a display panel on a console as wide as the treadmill. “Cybex” and the model number are written on the console.

Description: The recalled toy speed boats are lightweight plastic toy boats supported by an inflatable hull with “outboard” motors on them. The motor uses two AA batteries. The toy boat measures about 12 inches long by 8 inches wide and comes in various colors and designs.

Description: This recall involves batteries with serial numbers listed below sold with the TF-DVD 1020 portable DVD/CD/MP3 players. The battery’s serial number can be found on a white sticker affixed to it. The product looks like a small laptop computer and has a 10″ swivel TV screen. “COBY” is written on the front cover and under the screen. “TF-DVD 1020″ can be found on the bottom of the unit.

Description: The wooden hammock stands measure about 154 ½ inches long by 53 ½ inches in height by 53 inches in width. There are two black metal brackets on the base and on the arms of the hammock stand. All Pottery Barn two pole wooden hammock stands sold from 2003 through 2008 are included in this recall.
