Back to School Haircut Supporting the Underprivledged

Back to School Haircut

disclosureIt’s on every mom’s to-do  list,  a back to school haircut. We start the year with polished shoes, fresh uniforms, white socks and of course, a haircut. This year we returned to Hair Cuttery.  We wanted great cuts and to be part of a great cause – the Share-a-Haircut program.

What is the Back to School Share-A-Haircut program?

The Share-a- Haircut program was created by Hair Cuttery to give free haircuts to underprivileged community members. 2016 marks the 17th year of Share-A- Haircut. Their most recent campaign donated 55,000 haircuts to victims of domestic violence this past spring.Back to School Haircut

How does the Share-A-Haircut program work this year?

Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, will donate back-to- school haircuts to children who need it most. From August 1-15, for every child up to age 18 who purchases a haircut at one of Hair Cuttery’s nearly 900 salons, one free haircut certificate will be donated to a disadvantaged child in the community. My two girls haircuts will provide two other children in our community with a great haircut, too!Back to School Haircut

How will the underprivileged kids their free haircuts?

Certificates will be distributed with the help of more than 100 local government and non-profit organizations in communities across the country.Back to School Haircut

How many underprivileged kids does Hair Cuttery hope to reach this year?

This summer Hair Cuttery is aiming to donate tens of thousands of free haircut certificates ahead of the new school year.

  1. Wow! What an awesome idea for a great cause. I used to get my hair cut at Hair Cuttery when I was in school. They closed the location near my parent’s house, though. Good to know they are still around and doing good in the community!

  2. That is awesome! I hadn’t heard of this program, so I’m going to check and see if we have one in our area. All three of my boys need haircuts before school starts too.

  3. Haha I HAD to check out this post – my 8 year old son has refused a hair cut all summer! I can not wait for school to start later t his month – he knows it’s getting chopped soon – thankfully!

  4. What a great way for kids to feel like they are giving back and to teach them how not everyone has it so easy
