Automated Light Switch

First there were light switches, then there were dimmers, then there were occupancy sensor light switches. Now light controls are even more advanced than ever before with automated light switch .
Not only can you use switches that sense when people are in the room and switch on automatically, but you can connect them to your computer or smartphone and turn them on or off remotely. It is a great way to save energy, as well as warn off intruders when you are on vacation.

Smart Thermostat

The biggest technology buzz this year is about the smart thermostat
that can remember your habits and adjust automatically. It will also figure out ways to save you energy and help you to do so. If want a cheaper option, there are also a lot of other energy monitors and smart thermostats on the market already.

Are you still using a key to lock your door? A keypad entry is easier and more secure. Plus, you can now get a door lock that will allow for you to control it with your smartphone, meaning no more anxiety over forgetting to lock the door when you go out.

Smart Energy Usage Plug

If you are worried about the amount of energy that you waste, simply by leaving your appliances on, there is now a solution. You can buy a smart energy usage plug
that will switch off your appliances after a set period of inactivity. These come in the form of a single outlet, but also as a power strip.

Wireless Projector

Many of us don’t even have projectors in our houses, but if it is all of the cables that are putting you off, now you won’t have to worry. Not only can these projectors work without being plugged in, they can also stream movies from online sites such as Netflix and Hulu.

Smart Vacuum

Despite having been around for a while, smart vacuums have developed to the extent that they are not too expensive, and they can be trusted to go about and vacuum with very littlesupervision.

Washable Keyboard

There is not a single person among us who has not spilled some kind of food on our keyboard at some point. It is the hardest thing to deal with, as keyboards are impossible to clean. Luckily, there is now a washable keyboard, to be released this year!

Natural Light Alarm Clock

For those of us who do not class ourselves as “morning” people, it can be really difficult to wake up in the morning – especially when it is dark in the dead of winter. A Natural Light Alarm Clock
will simulate the gradual rising of the sun, to help you to wake up naturally.

And One for the Future…A Smart Kitchen

We are getting closer and closer to a smart kitchen every year. Many companies are working on creating automated washing machines and dishwashers, and a new wifi refrigerator has already been announced. This will mean that you can create shopping lists on your fridge and connect them to your smartphone, so that they are already there when you go shopping!
