A Jimmy Dean alarm clock, a Dora t-shirt, a half a dozen reusable grocery bags, packs of detergent and more were some of the swag 
items at this year’s BlogHer 2010 conference in New York City. Bloggers from across the globe, primarily women, attended the conference to learn the very best strategies on blogging and about the latest product innovations that may interest their readers. Vendors like to provide conference attendees with freebies, a.k.a. swag, to encourage them to try a new product and potentially feature it in a future blog post. An extra large duffel bag was stuffed to the rim with the swag I received.
Now there was one piece of swag that was like no other. It didn’t take up an inch in any suitcases; it didn’t come with an aluminum water bottle or stain fighting promise. The Huggies Every Little Bottom campaign opted to donate diaper “swag” to the mothers who need it most, the mothers who turn to diaper banks and other social service agencies to provide diapers for their child’s bottoms.
Throughout the conference 20 attendees names were selected to win a JUMBO pack of Huggies diapers. This swag didn’t get stuffed in one of the conference bags; instead the attendee had the opportunity to select a diaper bank to receive the pack of as many as 50 diapers! Incredible! That is 50 diapers for 20 winners, equaling 1000 diapers! Wow! Attendees quickly turned into philanthropists going online to learn about the various diaper banks participating in Huggies Every Little Bottom to select one in their area, or opt to locate one closer to home. All in all the 1000 diapers will cover bottoms across our countries not the bottom of the over sized duffel bags! These conference attendees could directly impact the life of a struggling mother and child just by being at BlogHer 2010! It doesn’t get much better than that!
Conference attendees were asked to use Twitter to spread the message of the campaign. Attendees posted facts or other reactions to the campagin and use the hashtag #ELB. Names were selected from the #ELB trend.
